1. Week One Recap: In which Taylor attemps to feed an unfillable hunger, and Little Bingo Buttoneyes gives St. Al’s an eternal thumbs up.

Welcome to the great Minneapolis Fish Fry Club recap! Coming to you live from St. Albert the Great in Seward. And by live, I mean five days late, because I’ve been learning how to do stuff like this:

Little Bingo Buttoneyes there didn’t win at bingo, sadly. But she did give St. Al’s fried fish a big bouncing thumbs up:

Careful with that fork young lady. Meanwhile, Taylor will be stuffing his face with fish from now on into Internet eternity. Godbless you animated gifs. Go ahead and check back here in a couple weeks… he’ll still be chowing down on that ever-giving cod, and Danielle’s approval will remain unwavering. (But that lady in the back doesn’t approve of this nonsense at all. Nope. Not one bit.)

    Back to bingo:

Not everyone was a loser. This guy was the big champ, taking home a monstrous $47 pot that cleared the house:

    Swooosh, back to fish:

All in all a great time and a splendid way to kick off Fish Fry season. Some things never change at St. Al’s: The fried fish was great, the baked was ok, and the potatoes really tied the room the together. Danielle got the spaghetti—same as it ever was. But you may ask yourself: What about dessert? Well I’ll tell you: Pie! Homemade pie! The best damn homemade pumpkin pie I’ve ever had!

    (Danielle: Quit exaggerating.)

Fine. But it was damn good. The pie went fast, perhaps because St. Al’s had the double-barrel feeding line going, which kept lines shorter than we’ve ever seen them.

Thanks again to St. Al’s for hosting. You are a once-in-a-lifetime fish fry. (By which I mean six-weeks-in-a-year.) And a big thanks to our lovely guests Amanda and John. Consider yourselves jumped into the gang. Now… where to next?
